Top 5: Mickey Waffles

The best way to start the day is with Mickey Mouse waffles. Am I right? ;)

If you're not a Disney fan, you may be reading this and thinking, What's so special? They're waffles shaped like a mouse...

BUT THEY ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.

Mickey Mouse waffle enthusiasts have been trying to figure out Disney's waffle recipe for YEARS now, concluding with the possibility of this secret ingredient: Carbon's Golden Malted Flour. (100% not taking credit for this theory — found it online a few months ago.)

I haven't tried the recipe myself, but I'm fortunate enough to be able to drive to the resorts for breakfast anytime I want.

With that being said, here are my Top 5 Favorite Places to Eat Mickey Mouse Waffles~

The Roaring Fork
I was going to say this article is in no particular order, but I do think this spot is at the top of my 'Top" list. The Roaring Fork is the quick-service location at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It features different types of Mickey Mouse waffles, such as the Strawberry & Cream waffle with fresh, chopped strawberries and homemade whipped cream. YUM.

Grand Floridian Café
If you're looking for a lovely sit-down meal, this is the place to go. The Grand Floridian Café at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers a lovely dining experience with an even lovelier atmosphere. The Mickey Mouse waffle is a traditional large waffle, coated in cinnamon sugar. Delicious! You can also get toppings such as strawberries, whipped cream, cookie bites, berries, fruit glazes and more.

Olivia's
This is one of my favorite eateries, day or night. Located at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Olivia's is serving up the perfect Minnie Mickey waffles to start your day. Instead of the traditional large Mickey waffle, you get three miniature waffles! Perfectly adorable & certainly delicious. Sides include eggs, bacon or sausage.

'Ohana
As much as I love Mickey waffles, Stitch waffles are pretty awesome too. Head on over to 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort for some waffles with your favorite 626. I personally haven't had them at 'Ohana (I ate them as part of my room service breakfast during my last staycation) ... However, if you aren't staying at the Poly, 'Ohana is the place to go. Plus you get to meet Stitch himself!

The Mara
All Mickey waffle sides aside, the Mara serves the best view. While the quick-service dining location at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a pretty standard Mickey waffle meal, the view is what makes the meal even more spectacular. You can take your meal over to the animal viewing area and hang out with giraffes and other wildlife while you eat. Where else can you do that?!

The best part about eating at Walt Disney World is the allergy-friendly menu. Most (if not all) Disney restaurants offer a special menu for us allergy folk. It shows the meal name, meal description, as well as what allergies the meal is safe for. On top of that, you can speak with a chef who will do his/her best to accommodate your needs!

Sidenote: This adorable Mickey Mouse waffle (skull) & bacon (crossbones) shirt was designed by The Lost Bro's! Check out their online store here.
